So that’s what I did.

In 2005, I opened Ireland’s first shop solely devoted to vintage and high end used guitars. We were also the first shop in Ireland to offer a modern vintage guitar website, complete with photos and detailed descriptions, and the first to charge prices in line with the international vintage market. Others may have followed, but no one can match our reputation for consistent quality, credibility, and competitive prices. The competition may have some great guitars, too. We should know–several of them came from our shop!

For the past five years we’ve been based in the artsy and picturesque village of Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny, where we’ve made many good friends and have seen some great gigs. In 2010 we changed to an online only business – less overhead means better value for our customers. We still offer the same great guitars and services, take trade-ins, buy, sell on consignment, etc. We now offer online appraisals and a new ‘Just The Price’ service. Need information on your old guitar? Looking to trade in or trade up? Need an obscure part for your vintage guitar? How about a good setup? Give us a call.

Appraisals
Want to know what that old guitar is worth? We offer a variety of valuing services, including hands on appraisals conducted in person, online appraisals, and a basic pricing service called ‘Just The Price’. More information on our appraisal service.

Consignment Sales
Do you have a guitar you’d like to sell, but you’re not sure how to go about it? We offer consignment sales for 15% commission. We can help you obtain the correct market price for your guitar. If you need to sell quickly, we can usually get it done within a couple of weeks. Give us a call for more information.

Repairs and Restorations
How many times have you walked into a guitar shop and played a guitar with a lousy setup? Countless, right? Here at KVG we strive to give every guitar in the shop the best possible setup, so when you take it home it’s ready to go. If you’ve ever stopped in to try out our guitars you’ll know, and that will not change now that we’re virtual. Does your guitar need a good setup? We’ll do most setups for under €40. We also have plenty of experience repairing and restoring vintage instruments, so if your axe needs some work, give us a call.

Her passion for traditional Irish music led her to pursue her dream of opening up a music shop that would cater for the re-awakening interest in our native music and dance.

From those perilous times of the early 1990′s,the shop has created its niche in the traditional Irish music world and has become a must for all those at home and abroad who share this consuming affection.

Restoration and repair work I find very interesting. This work needs lots of time and a different approach. Because of my engineering skills I can make special tools and jigs which help me to build on the traditional methods of repair and restoration. I will repair and restore:- Violin, Viola, Cello , Double Bass and Bow’s.
