Let’s Make Music is a family-run academy of music based in Carlow offering both group and one-to-one lessons.

We want to encourage people of all ages to experience the enjoyment of playing an instrument in a friendly, relaxed and professional environment, while learning the skills and theory that are essential to becoming an accomplished musician.

When you enrol with us, you have the option to study your chosen instrument in one of two styles:

Classical: If you select classical-based studies, you’ll pursue a formal course of learning that will prepare you to take graded exams if you wish.

Rock/Pop: If you decide to enrol in rock/pop-based lessons, your classes will be based upon more contemporary styles of music that enable you to play your favourite bands’ music.

Both styles follow the same goal-based structure that will enable you to progress and develop to a high standard of musicianship.

We offer courses to both children and adults, and our students are grouped into classes according to their age and skill level.

Each course is split into 4 modules, the first beginning in September. We believe that by guiding students through each planned module, they will quickly develop their skill set while following a progressive learning curve.

Our Academy’s aim is to enable our students to become accomplished in reading music notation, developing technique and performance-based skills that can be measured through graded exams and organised end of year class concerts

The Buachaills are one of Irelands newest and most promising trad/ ballad groups with a few modern classic thrown in . The band plays a vast repertoire of music ensuring that they always entertain every crowd at any venue or event.

The Buachaills regularly perform at some of the most established bars and pubs as well as being booked for corporate functions, company events and private parties throughout the country.

They are the resident house band in Cheers bar in Fermoy and can be seen perform there every Sunday from 6.30.

Padraig and Eoin have been playing ballads together since 1992 when the were both members of the Castlelyons pipe band. Padraig was a member of the Barleybog Sound while Eoin frequently made guest appearances with them.
For the past 10 years Eoin went down the rock route playing bass in a number of bands including Burning Flames, The Smalltown Lovers and Refresh.
In October 2011 the two lads reunited for what was to be a one off performance. This reignited thier love for ballads and after a few sessions they decided to “give it a go” again.
While playing one of those sessions they met the young talented piper Aaron Dolan and after seeing his potential immediatly , they asked him to join them in their new adventure.
In February 2012 the buachaills were introduced to percussionist Eamonn Mulholland who joined them for their 1st European gig in Cyrpus Avenue.
So impressed with his ability and the variation he brought to the band the lads asked him to come on board straight away.

They are the resident house band in Cheers bar in Fermoy and can be seen perform there every Sunday from 6.30
