THE RATTLING KIND ANNOUNCE ACADEMY 2 SHOW
News last updated: 18-04-2012

back to news

Emerging Northside Dublin band The Rattling Kind have announced an Academy 2 show for June 15th. Tickets €10.00 incl. booking fee from Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie

With fluid drumming (John Mulrooney), driving bass (Thomas Forde) and incisive lead guitar playing (Ben McGinn), heartfelt lyrics are sung passionately by lead singer Eddie Sherlock in his unique voice.

With a love for Irish artists such as The Dubliners, Damien Dempsey, Declan Sinnott, The Frames and Villagers, as well as international artists like Paulo Nutini, Newton Faulkner, Arcade Fire, Kasabian, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Roger Waters, and Frank Zappa, the band hope to pool their musical influences together and aim to produce “The Rattling Kind” of music.
Having worked the Dublin pub scene for over a year, Eddie had gained quite the following for his rousing renditions of the many classic Irish ballad songs.
But he wanted more…
Thomas, a keen writer, began meeting up with Eddie in their spare time and it was at this juncture that the decision was taken – they would write their own songs and play their own music. They would form a band.
Next to join was Ben, taking on the role of lead guitarist. But Ben would swap from one musical instrument to the next; he has even been known to play wine glasses at house parties.
But the whole sound really came together when John arrived on drums. The transition was seamless. A former member of “The Artane Boy’s Band” and a childhood friend of Thomas, John settled in quickly and after a mere three rehearsals was already gigging with the band.
Hardworking, energetic and honest, these five lads from the Northside of Dublin hope you enjoy their music.
It’s “The Rattling Kind”.

Tickets for The Rattling kind are now on sale from Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie

LEADERS OF MEN ANNOUNCE DUBLIN SHOW AT THE WORKMAN’S CLUB

Leaders of Men have announced a Dublin show at The Workman’s Club, Saturday 16th June. Tickets €12.00 incl. booking fee from Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie. Tickets on sale now.

Mixing musical Influences doesn’t always spell success but in the case of Tallaght band Leaders of Men, the fusion of five local musicians from different rock outlets has spelt triumph. Comprising Brian Ashe (lead vocals), Ed Porter (guitar/vocals), Gav Glynn (guitar/vocals), Darren Lindsay (bass), and Dean Byrne (drums/percussion).

Leaders of Men are empowered by the times we live in, and they are driven to sing their songs and kick against the negativity and betrayal of the last few years. Their melodic-indie sound is fuelled by social frustration and their desire to speak openly about Ireland. This isn’t about just getting paid and keeping your head down. There is something woven through every song and punctuating every note of their music. It is urgent, compelling, shimmering, joyous, Irresistible music that needs to be heard now, more than ever!

Hotpress describe their music as ‘music for the dark times, music that insists upon itself. It is the perfect distillation of their sound, tackling dark material and somehow turning it into something sonically joyous’.

With the release of their second EP ‘The War of Conversation’ out shortly, Leaders of Men are moving forward in their mission of writing music to inspire the ages!

Tickets for Leaders of Men are on sale now from Ticketmaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.ie
