Drum/Guitar Teacher

€35 Euro Per 1 Hour One to One Lesson. Group workshops also available

Description

In my teaching methods, Linear, Moellor, phrasing, reading, polyrhythms, rudiments, heuristic and meta-cognitive strategies will be used. Along with individual, private teaching, I will also be holding master classes and group workshops. I teach all age groups from beginners to professional musicians. I am currently opening up a music store that will house professional (garda vetted) music teachers who teach other instruments such as guitar and piano. We offer flexible hours to accomodate your busy schedule. Friendly, helpful staff and teachers as well as competitive tuiton prices. Learning drums should be fun, interesting and allow you to make demands of yourself to become a better musician!

Single lessons are €35 per hour

Group rates are €15 per person/ maximum of 8-10 students

Multiple lessons are 4 lessons for €120 or 6 lessons for €180

Fees for tuition are payable on last lesson for the following term.

Background & Experience:

I have been playing drums and percussion since the age of eleven, when I enrolled to attend the Triptons school of music in Essex. My teacher throughout the five years attended was the incredible Brian Pickles. A master percussionist and gentleman. I was throughout this time immersed in orchestral, rudimentary studies and big band performances.

On finishing school I was fortunate to land a job in the West End at Bob Henrit’s Drumstore. Here I met and had first hand tutorials from some of the worlds greatest drummers including Louis Bellson, Irv Cottler, Narada Michael Warden, Chester Thompson, Jeff Hamilton and far too many others to name. Cheers Bob. The regular drop inns of Keith Moon, Simon Phillips all the great players. Working in store led to many exciting opportunities including some recording dates, working with Brian Bennett, sessions in the West End and the chair as big band drummer at the London College of Music.

I have worked with some wonderful musicians over the years, including Gary Sanford, Bassist Dave Swift and touring dates that have included guitarist Peter Green. In Ireland and the UK I have also worked with the Pouges, Bagatelle, and I am currently touring and recording with Don Baker.I studied with Kenny Clare, Bob Armstrong amongst others and still enjoy touring and meeting with drummers who are willing to share their art form. My current endorsements include: Vic Firth, Zildjian, Axis Percussion, Treeworks Chimes, Canopus Drums and Pure Tone Monitors.
